The Douglas County Chamber of Commerce is a member led organization. We encourage you to become involved in any of our programs or committees simply by emailing us at info@douglascountygeorgia.com or by calling 770-942-5022 to let us know of your interest. You will be contacted by Chamber leaders with more specific information and meeting times.
Government Affairs Committee
The Chamber is the unparalleled voice of business in Douglas County. Whether working at the local, state, or federal level, the Chamber works for businesses advancement by building relationships with local officials, legislators and congressmen. Our focus on regional issues like water and transportation will positively impact our community long into its future. The committee establishes the Chamber’s legislative agenda each year and organizes participation in the Washington DC Fly In, the Douglas County Day at the State Capitol and the Eggs and Issues Breakfast.
Economic Development (Industry) Committee
One of Douglas County’s most valuable assets is its strong industry base, and success in industry lies in a trained and committed workforce. The Industry Committee will focus its attention this year on becoming a Georgia Work Ready certified community through advancing the College and Career Institute and industry profiling. In addition, the Human Resource Roundtable is held quarterly for HR professionals.
Small Business Committee
Douglas County was named the 20th Entrepreneur Friendly Community in the State of Georgia and an increasing number of small businesses are calling Douglas County home. The Online Business Start-Up Kit and training opportunities with the Small Business Development Center, SCORE and the SBA are just part of this committee’s initiatives. Programs of the Small Business Committee include the Small Business of the Quarter Award and Chamber Connections.
Chamber Diplomats
These volunteer leaders representing member businesses help promote a positive community image, assist in welcoming new Chamber members through ribbon cuttings and provide leadership for Chamber events and retention efforts. The committee is limited to 25 members, but a waiting list is available at all times.
Chamber Programs
Human Resources Roundtable
Workforce Development is a key focus of the Chamber. The Human Resources Roundtable is a committee that seeks to bring HR professionals together to help address the needs our member businesses' HR Needs as well as to serve as to provide a place for HR professionals to network and share ideas with each other.
Chamber Connections (a leads generation group)
Get connected with Chamber Connections,a networking leads group that meets the second and fourth Fridays of each month from 8-9:30am at the Chamber of Commerce. All Chamber members are invited to join Chamber Connections, which focuses on members connecting with each other for leads generation and business enhancement.
Young Professionals Connection
The Douglas County Chamber of Commerce invites you to join a new and exclusive networking group: the Young Professionals Connection! YPC provides a number of exciting ways for you to connect with your peers, connect with your community and connect with your future! Young Professionals Connection is for young professionals ages 21-40 in our community who are employees of a chamber member business.
