Hi, I’m Elena,
Most know me as the woman behind wheel of The Hud food truck, your queen of the Bar-B-Cuties, and 3rd generation of the well-known Hudson family here in Douglasville. Our family has owned and operated Hudson’s Hickory House for over 50 years.
What you might not know is that my parents adopted me as a child from Russia. Yes, Russia has come to Douglasville 😊 My parents have always encouraged me to celebrate my heritage – it is part of who I am and I am so grateful that they helped me keep my Russian heritage a part of my life. I am so proud to be part of the Douglas County community! I am a graduate of Alexander High School and recent University of West Georgia alumni #ForeverWest. While my roots are from Russia, my foundation was formed in this community, and my wings have certainly spread right here in Douglas.
I am committed to you, my beloved community and I am overrun with emotions as I continue the legacy of Hudson’s in honor of my daddy and all of our amazing extended family who have helped make Hudson’s an iconic place in Douglasville. Serving the community that I live in is so important to me. As a little girl from Russia, you accepted me with open hearts and arms and giving back in any way I can is at the core of who I am. Whether it is through serving on the Board of Directors for the Chamber, supporting my friend Emily at the Cultural Arts Council, or providing meals for the victims of domestic violence at JC Freedom House, I was taught that giving back to the place you call home is “just what you do”.
This is me, Elena. And THIS…is Douglas.
